Summary

Welcome to Nevereth School of Sorcery and Demonics. As the school’s new groundskeeper you will be tasked with taking care of animals, growing crops to feed our many students and helping our school to expand.

How to Play

Finish quests for the headmistress found at the top of Nevermore. Nevermore is found to the North-East of your house.

Planting

-Till soil using Till Soil Spell.

-Plant desired seeds using Seed Spell.

-Water the planted crops.

-Wait for plants to grow

-Harvest with Harvest Spell.

-Profit

Taming

-Use "Calm Beast" spell to calm a creature

-Use "Lure Beast" if you want it to follow you

-Watch "Tame" meter above the creature until it is tamed.

-Horses and Dragons can be mounted once tamed

Donating Creatures

-You can donate creatures to the school using the dropoff point to the West of your house.

-Use "Lure Beast" to lure sheep and horses to the barn portal.

-School profits, not you.

-There are ancient portals that make getting around the island easier.

Walk: Keyboard: WASD Controller: Left Stick

Sprint: Keyboard: Shift Controller: Click Left Stick

Jump: Keyboard: Space Controller: A

Cast Spell: Keyboard: 1-8 buttons Controller: Hold Left or Right Stick and press face buttons (XYBA)

Interact: Keyboard: E Controller: Y

Attack: Keyboard: Left Mouse Controller: X

Cycle Seed Type: Keyboard: CZ Controller: D-Pad Left/Right

Known Issues

• Fixed!There's some startup issues on many machines. Fix will be coming in version 0.1.2.
• Riding animals (horses and dragons) has movement and camera issues
• Networking
  • Multiplayer only works over LAN
  • LAN discovery may have issues with firewalls
    • Honestly I'll prob just set up Unity relay after the jam.
  • The clients may have some general issues
• Quest descriptions need some work. You only need to capture 3 sheep and kill 3 snakes+alligators+spiders.
• Save Games
  • Loading a save game makes it so you can't plant wheat or other plants
• Graphics
  • Smoke stacks render in front of the clouds
  • Swamp water is missing some effects and sounds
• Options
  • There's no options for gameplay or input.

Extra Notes

This is a submission for the Farm Jam 2024 Game Jam.
